Description
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with specific features of public administration in Croatia and the European Union using relevant terminology in the English language. Within the course the notion and aims of joined-up governance are defined. The most important principles of the code of ethics for administrative professionals are described and the importance of administrative ethics is discussed. The Croatian public administration system and the stages of administrative development in the Republic of Croatia are explained. The concept of European citizenship is defined and its benefits are discussed. EU comitology is explained. The main principles of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union are outlined pointing out the right to good governance. The importance of SGIs is analyzed. Various types of texts are analyzed and translated. Special attention is paid to the acquisition of terminology of public administration and the development of communication skills.
