Davor Petrić has been working at the Department of European Public Law since 2016. Since 2017 he serves as Executive Editor of the Croatian Yearbook of European Law and Policy (CYELP).
He graduated law at the Faculty of Law, University of Mostar in 2013 and European studies (summa cum laude) at the Faculty of Political Science, University of Zagreb in 2015. He earned his LL.M. degree at the University of Michigan Law School in 2019 as a ‘Hugo Grotius Fellow’. He spent semester as a visiting non-degree student at the Karl-Franzens University of Graz (2012), the Comenius University Bratislava (2013), and the University of Zürich (2014). As a guest researcher he stayed at the Europa-Institut of the Saarland University (2021), Court of Justice of the European Union (2021), Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (2022), New University in Ljubljana (2022), Hertie School in Berlin (2022), and University College Dublin (2023).
In 2022, he defended his doctoral dissertation (summa cum laude) entitled ‘Interpreting EU Law: Legal Reasoning of National Courts in the Preliminary Ruling Procedure’.
He is a member of academic staff of the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence ‘EU Global Leadership in the Rule of Law’ at the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb.
His research interests include EU law (especially EU judicial system), judicial politics, constitutional aspects of European integration, and jurisprudence.
