After successfully completing the course, students will be able to:
- define different modes of transport and law that regulates each one of them on national, EU and international level;
- explain the position and importance of transport in national and global economy, as well as importance of legal regulation of this industry;
-understand the functioning of market of transport services and transport infrastructure management;
- critically evaluate and recognize the new market trends in international transport of goods, and characteristics of multimodal transport;
- understand basic institutes of maritime, land and air transport law
- understand the organization of modern shipping
- explain the protection of rights of passengers in all modes of transport;
- explain the significance of marine insurance for modern shipping;
- explain the significance of maritime law for the protection of marine environment;
- indicate the characteristics of contractual and non-contractual liability arising from exploitation of ships and performance of transport services in all modes of transport
- discuss the legal regulation of the maritime demesne.

- distinguish between transport law and other legal disciplines
- differentiate between legal norms governing different modes of transport
- understand basic institutes of transport law and apply them to practical cases
- understand the process of enactment of legal instruments at national, EU and international law

After successfully completing the course, students will be able to:
- demonstrate the understanding of rights and obligations arising from transport contracts;
- understand charterparties and contracts of affreightment
- understand contracts of carriage of goods and the underlying transport documents, as well as carrier’s liability for damages
-understand contracts of carriage of passengers and carrier’s liability for personal injury or death, and damage to baggage
-understand mortgage and lien
-understand the basic structure and functioning of marine insurance;
- understand the process of concession on maritime demesne;
- analyze the influence of international law in the domain of maritime and transport law on national legislation;
- distinguish between the contractual and non-contractual liability of shipowner, carrier and other interested parties arising from different institutes of transport law
- distinguish between the non-compulsory and compulsory liability insurance and its impact on transport industry and its competitiveness

After successfully completing the course, students will be able to:
- apply individual norms of maritime, land and air transport to individual cases;
- solve practical cases in the field of maritime, land and air transport and offer solution to problems
- find legal solution to problems arising from deficiencies of individual legal instruments in the field,
- understand the system of legal norms governing transport industry at the international, EU and national level.
